Unhappy Microsoft visual C++ Runtime Library - runtime error!

Hi! I'm new, so go easy on me!

I have Xara 3.0 and I run on XP. I get the following message when I try to open Xara within frontpage or not.

    Microsoft visual C++ Runtime Library

    Runtime Error!

    Program: C:\Program Files\xara\Webstyle 3.0\Webstyle.exe

    abnormal program termination.

I've searched the forum and have followed advice of uninstalling google. I've not downloaded anything recently. It worked fine the other day. I can't reinstall it because i've lost the disk. I'm halfway through builiding a website! Argh!

    Any ideas?

you can re-install by downloading the trial and unlocking it by entering the member name and password of the account from which you purchased.

    regarding the error -

Please navigate to the wstemplates folder of webstyle. Copy (do not delete) any folder containing (project) within its name from the wstemplates folder to a separate location outside the wstemplates folder.

Then start Webstyle. Does the crash occur? If not then move one of the project folders back to the wstemplates folder and restart Webstyle. Repeat this process until you identify the project folder causing the crash. contact the xara support team once youve tried the above suggestion

That didn't work. I didn't buy it through them on the internet. I bought a computer magazine because it had the full version with it.

Xara won't reply to my emails when I contact them.

I am having the same problem with Xtreme.

I was using Xara daily on this computer, and out of the blue this happens.

I get the same error message immediately after the initial window informing you of new movies, etc. It never gets to the Tip of the Day window. See attached image.

    Any suggestions please.

I would guess that a DLL is broken, maybe you have a bad bit of memory. I would run hardware diagnostics.

I guess you don't have Visual Studio, or you would have got a debug screen.

I am getting this same error message. I don't understand how to make the Bat file described in the above message.
    Can anyone explain?
    Thanks

John the regsvr32 is an application on 32bit windows systems. The text within the quotation marks is the full path to a dll file required by Webstyle 4.

Essentially you look for all dll files in the folders for Webstyle and make sure they are registered.

If you open a command prompt you can type the commands individually or you can create a .bat file like Kovarik shows in his post. Either way the dll is added to the registry.

The last line of Kovarik's .bat registers the xwsindex.exe file.

Alrighty, well, I have a slightly related problem. See I'm a gamer... I have a desktop and a laptop, I normally game on my desktop, because there are less problems with it. However, my 450$ graphics card blew and i have to send it back to get repaired, in the mean time I planned to play Silk Road Online on my laptop, but I have a runtime libary issue with it. How would I figure out what file to register in order to get my game to work?

I'm quite computer litterate and have been searching for a solution for hours now, I figured the people here knew what they were talking about as I read the solutions here, I'd just like a educated answer to my problem.

Ruko in your case make sure you have the .net framework installed. If you do, just try again. I also play silkroad and somtimes have to keep restarting the game till the error goes away.

As for JBLansing to make the batfile just open notepad, paste the text in it and save the file as filename.bat
