Default (OT perhaps:) A demonstration of mesh fills...

I hope Mr. Moir will figure out how he wants his mesh fill to work soon.
Art should tell a story. Don't paint a moment, paint a lifetime.

    Yes!

But unfortunately, it could take years, until it's developed in Xara Xtreme (the mesh fill tool has to be much better than Illustrator's...).

    Wow, really mindboggling.
But the mesh fill is a pain to work with. If Xara was to jump into the bandwagon, it should come up with a better way.
But doing these without the mesh fill shouldn't be impossible, for someone with enough talent and patience.
BTW, one of the last pictures, the green microscope, was done without using the mesh fill.
I remembered the picture from a topic at cgtalk.com
The artist specifically stated it was an assignment to create a realistic render without using the mesh fill.

I wonder, if he is able to zoom with Adobe Illustrator into the drawing up to 25000%.

I think, each Xara Xtreme user knows the Xara microscope in the Clipart Gallery (section "Example Xara X drawings 1", image "Microscope"). There is something under the Microscope lens, which is only visible, if you zoom into the picture (up to 25.000% - the largest zoom factor of current vector graphics editors).

If you take at look at Illustator World and look at the number of drawings that use this tool you will find tat there are very few that use this tool. When I have time and doing a drawing of a face that requires to be photo realistic then some times I do use the mesh tool. The problem with this tool at it take lots of patience and loads of planing and in every day work you don't get the time.

Here have a look at this thread which was posted earlier this year on the same topic and see the views: http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthre...ight=mesh+fill

It is much quicker annd easier in Xara to use transparencies to achieve the same effect. My big wish for any next version of Xara is to have a better Text engine maybe something like FreeHand MX and certainly the abilty to import and edit PDF's
    Design is thinking made visual.

Impressive effort. What's your technique for drawing photo realistic images such as this? Do you have a Xar file example available?

That's an amazing drawing. Any chance of being able to use that as a demo file for when I demonstrate Xara LX?

masque - is that gorgeous woman on the right really a drawing?

or are you trying to show the difference between night of the living dead people (left) and real life people (right)

if she IS a drawing of yours - that is fantastic - and you can tell her she is beautiful!!!!!
