Unable to draw line or colour fill in a current .xar doc

Hello, I was working on a image of a 'goat' see first jpeg

Please be patient with me as I am still a novice with using technical terms.
Ok I was able to draw objects, colour fill etc.

Then on the next occasion I am having problems editing or draw new objects to this .xar.

See second jpeg - here I have copied the full figure and paste it as an example of what I am encountering.

Any new object or lines are coming out as red dotted lines without line colour/width or able to colour fill.

What have I done to this .xar that I can't edit etc. Please advice how do I correct this.

Your second instance, the one with the red dotted lines, is on the Guideline layer. Open the Pge and layout gallery, expand the layers, select the red dotted line version, cut, click onto a layer other than the guideline layer, paste.

You can also select the group or objects on the guides layer and simply drag them down to the desired drawing layer right with in the page and layer gallery.
