Bug in transparent GIFoption?

Is it just me or does the transparent gif option no longer work correctly. In the past if you had an object selected and you exported it it would automatically knock out all the colors around the selected area, even it the background around it was an image with multiple colors. Now even with a flat color background it doesn't do it automatically, you have to select each color and make it transparent. The problem I am seeing is in 1.0aa
