subtract

Hi people

attached in a file with two rectangles, what I'm trying to do is remove the green area to make a black triangular piece with a step in the bottom right hand corner (for a pillor graphic).

Problem although it's exactly placed when I combine subract the black area left is not what I want in that the top left corner is jagged.

should I not be using subtract

It works if you take the lines off the objects....
