    Default Sliced bevel issue

    Hi,

I ran into an annoying issue or bug when trying to slice a beveled, rounded-corner rectangle with another rectangle (no fill, 0 line width or 0,01pt line width, all the same)

Something happens to the shadow, and the resulting slice can't be used. Please see attached xar file, and see if you can replicate.

    thanks in advance,

Yes, it does the same for me too (you get a margin running along all the horizontal and vertical edges, ruining the shadow effect particularly where it's very dark). Odd isn't it?

[Edit: I also tried it with X1 and the effect isn't as marked there, though it still is present)

Definitely a bug there - I suggest you send the file to Xara Technical Support.

    Thanks Paul and Christine,

I'll file a bug report. Yes pauland, that stripe is the problem.

I worked temporarily around the problem manually, by making a shadow object on top of the slice, to cover the unwanted light stripe.

    Thanks to Xara support,

the problem was solved by slicing with an object with 0 line width and whole pixel dimensions and snap to grid set on.

Works perfectly now for my needs.

    sunny days,
