    Default format question...

Can someone open a xar format in PhotoShop Deluxe...

I'm working on a piece and the person who wants it needs it in psd format.

What would I need to do, if at all possiable, for them to open it with PSD?

    Thanks,
    Donnie

Hmmm? You can import a PSD file but not export one. But the main advantage of PSD is it maintains a certain amount of formatting and transparency which there are other ways to do.

The best solution is to export a TIFF file to the resolution needed. If transparency is required, such as a transparent background, the export as PNG with the True Color + Alpha option and do not have a filled rectangle behind the objects (if you do then there will be no transparent background). If you need to include a rectangle to make the image a certain size, and the background needs to be transparent, then make the rectangle with no fill and no outline.

I am not sure about Photoshop Deluxe but most versions of Photoshop can open an EPS file as well and if you export in Xara EPS format all of your formatting and special features should be retained.

    Hope this helps.
