    Hi Mark

Actually, the manual is designed to be only a basic reference. The movies are provided because they're a much more efficient tool for conveying some info.

As a writer of user manuals, I can tell you that no matter how hard you try, there's no way to get all the info about the app into one book. And make it accessible. And keep it up to date.

While having a manual is important, there are many inherent limitations. The materials available for Xara, which include the manual, the help system, the movies, this forum, and the XaraXone with its workbooks, WebXealot archives, multitudinous tutorials and tips & tricks, provide a greater wealth of information than a manual alone can ever offer.

OTOH, I can sympathize with the difficulty of finding exactly the info you need at exactly the moment you need it. [Of course, just because something's in a manual or help system doesn't mean you'll find it quickly. ]

Anyway, it sound as if you've got an interesting project going here. Good luck with it, and keep us posted.

Ah, but you can take a manual with you into the bathroom.

If you wanna make hex maps, perhaps you should take a look at Campaign Cartographer 2 at http://www.profantasy.com/Products/cc2.asp

I just watch the movies over and over to learn, plus listen to that lovely female voice that's on a few of the movies.

Very true, but I have to admit that that's not where I usually read them.

You're not alone. That's why I draw all my maps (for rpg's) in Xara...
