Chinese Characters

Anyone know how to paste chinese characters from word into xara or how to convert font in illustrator to a format you can import as a vector into xara?

The there isn't a format that works to bring this in isn't from Illustrator, but you can change the font to curves in CorelDRAW and export it as .wmf and that works to import it that way.

I have run across fonts that Xara doesn't recognize and was unable to do it any other way.

In CorelDRAW you have an Insert Character palette and a font that is harder for it to recognize can instead be brought in a a vector item by not selecting anything with the type tool and just inserting.

It is a very graphical font and therefore you really cannot just type in it but enter one character at a time.

Even if one does not use DRAW that much, it is a good interpreter between programs that don't like to export and import to each other.

This works for me:


1. Copy Chinese text from Word to Notepad.

2. Copy from Notepad and paste in to Xara.

3. Change font to a Chinese font, e.g. Simsun

4. The Chinese text will now be in Xara as text.

5. To print, export to pdf first then print the pdf.
