An Unknown PNG error has occured

It is a command line program. If you have a bad file called badfile.xar then make sure that both badfile.xar and ExpandXar.exe are in the same folder, start a command prompt window, change directory to the correct one and then type:

expandxar badfile.xar output.xar

This will create a new file called output.xar in the same folder.
