Failed to register DLLs - Webstyle 4

I know that this is probably a problem with my registry rather than Webstyle, but I don't know where else to ask.

The previous posts - and advice on xara.com - about using regsvr32 to manually register doesn't make any difference. I am an administrator and I've turned off AVG and all programs I can think off. Even tried safe mode.

It used to run, but I can't track down what has been changed on my system, system restore doesn't help.

I thought I'd make sure all the files had copied. Oddly, the templates hadn't, so I copied them from the disc. Didn't help, but then, for no particular reason, I double clicked XWSIndex.exe.

Hey, Webstyle works!

Tried again later - not working

Double clicked XWSIndex.exe - works!

I'm happy cos I can make it work but what's going on?
