All you Flash-interested people, you really should check out Swish - a fabulous little Flash creator program, VERY easy to use, selling for just $30! Get a free trial version of v. 1.51at www.SwishZone.com. (Version 2.0 will be out in two months - I have tried out an alpha version, and it'll be sensational!)

Ah, if only Xara could put something like this into XaraX 2.0 . . .

Thanks for the tip Klaus. I just downloaded the demo and it looks like what I need. I bought Flash but find it too demanding on my time to learn. I don't anticipate that problem with Swish.

Regarding Xara Ltd.: Perhaps they should seriously consider acquiring Swish or forming a strategic alliance. It would be a great followup to their breaking ties with Corel. Either approach could help secure the future of Xara Ltd. - what a powerhouse it could become!

I hope Xara will at least consider the idea.

    Regards, Ross

Yes, I too have thought of Xara acquiring Swish, as that would make a great combination. Let's hope they sell buckets of XX! I hate Macromedia software - so ugly to look at and so user-unfriendly!

Yes, Swish is VERY easy to learn and use. And version 2 will also allow for the import and use of vector graphics - now, the absence of that is it's chief defect, as only bitmaps can be imported and animated.

Thanks for the heads-up Klaus. I saw it-I bought it. What a great little program and so much easier than Flash!
Did you do that SWF in Swish or Flash?

I had to go into Safe Mode for the installation to go ahead. There must be something in my system it does not like. However it installed with no problems and seems to be working well. It should be fun exploring what it (and I) can do.

Swish is an easy way to make text effects, but is limited in options. I haven't seen version 2 yet and can't comment on it, but if you want a plethora of text effects, visit FlashKit's Flash Typer. It reminds me of the program Kai's Power Show, except with literally unlimited options. And the best part: It's free, and it's just as easy to use. The Swish website even links to them. If you think Swish is good, Flash Typer will leave you stunned.
