xporting pictures for printing at store

Hi, I like to export a few pictures that I have resized.
here is an example

I took a picture with my 7M camera. Ofcourse the image is too big
when I shrink it to 4x5 the dpi increases.

For printing at walmart or any other store that does digital printing, how many dpi pixels are needed, do they only require 96 or 300 similar to printing on a press?

I'm not an expert but my guess is that the store will print to the size you want from the file that you give them, and that will determine the dpi actually used.
I'd guess that 96 is rather low, but my own experience with printing on a deskjet printer is that once you are over 200dpi then the quality improvement is less noticeable. However you might as well give them as many pixels as you've got,

Hi,
I have two or three digital cameras (but not high megapixel 5Megapixel is my largest and 3Mega smallest.
I utilize ACDsee and CorelPhotopaintx3.
I find that all the cameras I have when brought into either of the programs come in at 72dpi. I just let either ACDsee or PhotoPaint print and the Deskjet I use determine the output, and when I go to a Photo shop let there print department do there thing.
Just my $0.02 worth.

here is one company posting resolutions

Print Size Minimum Resolution (Pixels)
11x14 print 1320 x 1680
12x18 print 1440 x 2160
8 wallet size photos 257 x 360
4x12 print 480 x 1440
4x6 print 426 x 640
4x7 print 480 x 840
5x7 print 600 x 840
6x9 print 720 x 1080
8x10 print 960 x 1200
8x12 print 960 x 1440

Now i wrote to them, is that 72 dpi, like you said any camera will take? or 300 dpi? When i get the answer I will share it with you.

Dpi, as I'm sure you realise means pixels per inch. So, looking at your list, if you divide the pixel resolution for a dimension by the print size for that dimension, you'll find that they require a (minimum) resolution of 120 dpi. across the board.
E.g. 1320/11=120 and 480/4=120 etc.
