    Cool simple line problem

    Hi

I know this is a simple problem but I'm having a senior moment.

The attached file is a scan of a graphic which looks grim. I need to recreate it so it's crisp and clear.

Someone do tell how as I've lost the plot

    thanks

    Ian

-Import the graphic, give it a flat transparency of say 50% and make the layer uneditable.
-Create a new layer on top of the layer you imported to.
-On this new layer trace the top edge of the graphic using the Shape Editor Tool and adjust as necessary.
-Select the line you have just created and give it a thickness of say 12pt.
-If you need it to be a shape, then Arrange/Convert Line To Shape.

    Hope this helps.

I would recommend applying a 0% "Stain Glass" transparency to your scan. This will allow you to do your tracing on layers UNDERNEATH the scan-layer. The benefit being that the scan does not get "hidden" as you do your tracing.

ahem, I think we are talking about a vector software, so my solution would be to draw a new line - much faster and more control! In addition you can modify the width of the outline with one single click
