xara xtreme newbie questions / illustration resources?

hi all!

i just tried the xara xtreme demo and am amazed about its flexibility.

here's some newbie questions:

- has anyone tried microsoft acrylic (expression)? it looked nice so far but xara seems much better (opinions about expression vs xara welcome!)

- i'd like to do character (cartoon) illustrations - anyone experienced on this? would be nice to see some images what's possible
i love those illustrations from jason brooks

- can someone recommend ressources for downloading xara files for learning?

I tried the beta version of Acrylic, but not enough to comment on.

Do a search on the forom for Bob Hahn for cartoon illustrations.

I wouldn't hold your breath on Expressions. Microsoft has halted development on it at least for awhile. Here's a link to an article CNet had a few weeks ago: http://news.com.com/Microsoft+pauses...3-6048968.html I would follow Eggs link. Lots of great learning materials their.

Actually, MS has increased to activity on EGD, and the rumor was something misquoted. There is more information on the MS forum. Rich
