Cusp join'Z' V's Smooth join 'S'

Hi!
Using Xtreme, is there any way to prevent cust join'z' changing at random to smooth join 'S' while trying to pull out an outline with shape editor tool?

I also would like to know that. It's a real pain in the (ankle?) when that happens and it seems to happen randomly.

I don't recall if either of the utility programs written by John and Dmitry have this feature.

You can edit the registry and make the Cusp type node the default.
The Key to edit is:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Xara\XaraXtreme\Options \ShapeEditorTool]

The CreateCusp DWORD value should be changed to 1.

The .reg files in the attached zip file will only make the change for Xara Xtreme

For anyone that doesn't feel comfortable editing the registry, the attached zip file contains two .reg files that will make the change for you.
Simply unzip the files into a folder on your hard drive. Use Windows Explorer or My Computer and view the folder. Double click the ShapeEditorTool-curves.reg file to have curved lines and cusp nodes or the ShapeEditorTool-straight.reg for straight lines and cusp nodes. You will be prompted "Are you sure you want to add the information in ShapeEditorTool-????.reg to the registry?" answer yes and the change will be applied for you. Do this with Xara Xtreme closed. When you open it any nodes you create with the Shape Editor Tool will be default to cusp notes and the line type you selected.

Will we still be able to change them back while in the prg if need be?

Yes, the toolbar icons still work to make live changes as you work. The registry edit only makes a specific type of node and line the default.

It is annoying when the cusp changes itself after you have set it. Doesn't happen much, just often enough to be an annoyance.

Glad to be of help. I perfer the Cusp nodes as default, myself and was fortunate to have found the registry entry that controls it.

I just found that Double clicking on a node changes cusp to smooth and vise versa.
