    Default Spin a coin

I am new new in fact just trying the trial.. Before I purchase
I have a UN medal which I copied front and back. what I wish to do
is be able in a graphic put both sides in a spin configuration
as it spins you will see one side then the other I wish to know is
this possible in Xara Xtreme if it is I will purchase the program
I use to (before I had to retire) use psp 7 and it allowed me to
make our old unit flag wave.. now I wish to make a coin (medal) spin
I know I can (or use to be able to do so in PSP) but corel bought the
company and their stuff became to difficult to use and you need multi
programs as psp had animation shop built in.

    Thank you in advance

Yes, Xara can do animated gifs. However, I'm wondering if, for this particular job, Xara3D might not be a better choice.

I don't have X3D loaded right now, so I can't go poking around in it. There's a Xara3D forum here on TalkGraphics. Soquili can probably help you on this question better than I can.

    Hi SkipD,

As Allison said, Xara3D is easier to accomplish what you are wanting to do. Check out this thread http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthread.php?t=14417 in the Xara3D forum.

I just tried 3dx and it would not allow me to import all the stuff I now have
whereas Xara X seems to so I guess I will have to wait until I find a program
like the old PSP7 that had an animation wizard built in.. wish I could buy the old PSP on the other hand is there a tutorial for Xara to do as I would like that is spin a coin or medal and if so that would be great then I could purchase the program but its no sense to buy unless it does what I want
    Thanks again

If you only want to do a spinning coin, then no, just X3D would be enough - particularly if you are happy with bitmap tools like PSP and don't want to shift the mindset to handle vectors. (Some people - incl me - have come from the vector side and find bitmap tools hard to get to grips with!)

In X3D, find a font like wingdings with a spot character - then you can follow one of the threads here to show you what to do next.

A spinning coin was one of the first animations I tried to do in PhotoPaint. A similar procedure should work in Xara.

    Do a File > New > Animation

Then follow the steps per the attached. Then cut-and-paste each successive coin to a different frame (in sequence).

Make all your frames viewable and editable, select all coins, align them all centrally to the frame.

Tweek the frame timing and export as an animation.

Well, if you're trying to stay busy, you've just struck oil.

There are many, many tutorials and workbooks available through the XaraXone (www.xaraxone.com). They can keep you busy for a looong time, and you'll have fun doing them, too.
