Default What's the deal with open source? Any chance for OS X?

I haven't looked at these forums for ages, but a few months ago, I saw something about open sourced Xara on some news site. But today, when I look around, it seems that nothing has happened?

Also, I'm about to get a Macintosh, so I guess I will have to beat the dead horse again and ask for an OS X port. If it is really open sourced, this shouldn't be impossible, right?

Fantastic! That has just made me a Mac user (it was basically the last checkbox on my "switch" list). I'll order my Macbook come monday and say farewell to Windows! Hooray!

I have my own business and do all my work in Xara X (yup, the old one) and Photoshop of course, so I'd be happy to become a tester.

Noticed that it uses WxWidgets, which isn't the prettiest to look at, but hopefully the speed and usability will be there.

This almost makes me want to brush up on my C++ skills and implement a drag and drop gallery for stacking/selecting objects in a clipview... and objects in layers as well... hmm...
