Default ANy chance we will see

ANy chance we will see filled non closed shapes at some point. Or at least the option to do it without joining and breaking shapes.

    Cheers

The reason why I ask is using my tablet it is sometimes very difficult to find where the other end of the line was to join it up (Not so much of a problem with a mouse) and close it.

Also there are many times It would just be nice to sketch a toon nose and have it filled without resorting to tricks. lol.

    Cheers

Probably not is the short answer.

That said, if you select the path, switch to the Shape Editor Tool, select the first or last control point, and press Enter, Xara will close the path. It may not always be pretty, but it will be a closed shape and you can edit the connecting line with the Shape Editor Tool to make it more elegant.

Or select all control points if you can't see the start and end points, and press enter. Again Xara closes the path.

That's a great little tutorial Ivan, there are however certain effects that only work on a closed shape, like applying a bevel to the filled shape, the endpoints need to be closed for that one. You also need a closed shape to subtract from the first shape and get a dependable result.

So it is good to know both.

Your technique is very useful. So it Gary's. Even though the line which isn't there appears to be there at 500%+ zoom, subtract shapes is still squirrelly. So it isn't really a closed shape though it may appear so.
