    Default Brushed Aluminum fills

    Hi every one,

    any one know where I can find Brushed Aluminum fill? i have a couple but the quality/look is not well defined.

    Alien Skin have a plug-in especially for brushed metal effects - under their impact collection.

    I have found a Fractal fill works really well for a brushed effect...

    Under bitmap fills/miscellaneous textures/stone 3 (way at bottom) is a texture that can be colored gray and placed over the chrome filter for some interesting effects.

    Different filters and effects applied on the bottom example: India Ink for the wood texture from Flaming Pear.

    Have a look at Gary's workbook. He shows how to handle a number of metals and to get the brushed look, just clone the shape and use john's suggestion of a Fractal fill with both Node fill handles fairly close together. After that then give it a stainglass transparency to suit your taste.
