Looks like you chose the default bitmap. Chose your image. Were you trying to make something transparent from the bitmap gallery? Rich
The "Xara" word/text/logo is bitmapped in the Xara default background image and not intended to be edited. Make yourself a 256x256px background in Xara Xtreme. Colorize it. Edit a new text of your own on top of it with font installed on your computer. Save as *.jpg in your project folder. Import it in your new Xara Xtreme project and Fill as background image (now from your Bitmap Gallery) into your frame. Tilt/rotate the background image to your liking with the Fill Tool. Experiment with this bkg.xar file as a guide. Try to be original!
Minimized the guide/template looks like this:

Enjoy your creative moments.

There should be a drop down list on the Transparenct Tool Infobar.
If you have imported a bitmap that you want to use for the transparency, it will appear in this drop down list. If you have a bitmap you want to use then import the image into Xara and the image will automatically be added to the Bitmap Gallery and will appear in the drop down list. Then you can select the bitmap from the drop down list
Once you have applied the bitmap as a transparency, click on the object with the Transparency Tool and a set of L-shaped arrows will appear. You can drag on the boxes at the ends of the arrows to resize the bitmap. Hold down the Ctrl key when you drag to constrain the resizing, or rotation, to equal amounts.
I hope this is the answer to your question.

Does this help? In Xtreme you can make any object - vector or bitmap - transparent.
...and move the trasparency slider to the right until the transparency is as you want it to be.

If you are looking to watermark some bitmaps, then xtreme has a couple movies showing you step by step how to create professional looking watermarks.
Thx for telling me, what is the name of this clips, where can i find them?
Hi ZE41,
When you are in "Extreme" or "Xara" on the very top menu go to "Help" then down to "Movies" and click on that. Then select the third one down from the top as shown in screen grab
