Photoshop CS2 plugins don't work?

In the setup of XaraXtreme i selected the photoshop plugins folder from Adobe CS2. All the Photoshop plugins appear in the Live effect, but have no effect in XaraXtreme (for e.g. Texture>Grain). All other non Adobe plugins work. Any ideas what's wrong?

Most of the plug-ins that come as part of the Photoshop program need Photoshop for them to work, you will find that you can put the new plug-ins (example Vanishing point) in the plug-in folder of an earlier version of Photoshop but it will not work.
Plug-ins that will work are the kind that are made by others as a program add-on.

Version 6 or earlier PS filters and most 3rd party filters should work. Adobe changed formats midstream...
