    Default Xtreme PDF Export

Has anyone else experienced some un-expected results when exporting to PDF in Extreme? I am looking at an export where layers which have been made invisible "reappear" in the export ... and some of the details (mostly text) did not get exported. I tried different settings (set text to curves) and turned "preserve layering" off and on ... to no avail. It's probably something I have done (or not done) ... any suggestions?

    This happened to me, too.
Sometimes moving layers solved the problem, sometimes not.
I downloaded "birthday-photo13.xar" (from Xara downloaded clipart) and I could not export "trim marks" level if I put it above the "design" level.

Without having the file it is hard to tell. One thing that you have to make sure of is you have no shapes on the guide layer. They do not print in .xar but do print to .pdf. Just a heads up...

    John,
I chose this file as an example because it can be downloaded from Xara.
If you wish to test , go to "clipart gallery", choose "get clipart" you'll find it in "cards and photo frames" folder.

Yes. Just done my first export with the default settings.

Odd colour tints in some apparently greyscale blends.

Feathered vector shapes exported at an extremely low dpi.

I found a series of technical drawings where pdf export is not complete.
These are really simple drawings without layers, I believe that can be useful to understand what goes wrong.
One of these file is attached (just 8k)

(p.s. eps output from the same file is ok)

I can't see the difference between the XAR file and the PDF. Can you point out what's missing in the PDF?

    Dear Brianlj,

in the attchment you can see the difference between the xar and pdf files.
I tested the pdf file with acrobat reader 5 and 6 and Adobe Indesign CS, and the same ojects are missing.
