A sensor check. I cleaned the 20D sensor, and the image was clean. I found another piece of lint in the 100mm lens. I never saw anything on the sensor, but it must have been very small. I used a halogen light to illuminate the sensor cavity to look for dust.

I dedusted the shed this morning. Choke!!!

Hey Rich,

You gotta Download Xara Xtreme (the new xara X)... messing with bitmaps has never been easier! Can you say real time plugin effects! Instead of playing with PS for hours... Toss a filter on a Bitmap, adjust the slider and see the result. Throw a second filter on and see the result instantaneously, go backa nd adjust the first... or even remove the first and the effect is instantaneous...

Your bug lights will be as quick as a two year with a runny nose...

Check out the xara forum or gallery for reviews and link to a prerelease version. I even heard the ugrade price will be as low as $29...

I never knew how to use an AutoFX filter in Xara. For the GEL effect, I think I would need 32 bit support. Maybe load a mask. Mask for FX applications are grayscale images. Normally, JPEG. You cannot translate mask, and they have to be in the correct position. You can do editing once they are loaded. Rich

I am not sure if xara now supports 32 bit plugins, but they support a lot more than before. Download xtreme and try it. the 15 day prerelease trial is free. From what I heard the upgrade can be as little as $29... You can not loose at those prices.

That is the 100mm macro lens. Minimum distance is about 9 inches from the sensor plane. I won't shift back to the 400mm lens until I am sure it is lint free. I may try to photograph Monarchs next week with it. Not sure how the migration is going, but that Monarch stopping place is only about 20 minutes from where I live. Anyway, from now until February. The 20D with the 100 mm lens on a fixture I made. The lens does 1:1. You can see the aperature size of the holder I made. It is slightly larger than the capture image. Rich
