Default September in the Xara Xone - Tutorials - Featured Artist & More

Thanks to all who sent in images for the Wheels show. I was really surprised (happily) that many of the images were not what I would have expected and it inspired me to do an entry which also became the subject of the September Xara X Tutorial.

Comments and questions are always welcome.

    To Tim Seward:

Your car, with the 3 port holes on the hood, looks kind of like the first car my father bought for our family. It was a 3rd hand, 1950 Buick Special fastback, navy blue.

Lots of good memories, like the sound of the dynaflow transmission.

Good job, Tim ... and all

    Hey Risto,

I guess gary had a choice of the eyeball thingy, or roadkill worms...
Then again, he might have choosen offroad worms...

But that would have been a totally different can o worms...

And Many thanks Go to Gary for all of the time and effort He puts in to support Xara and the Xara users. The wheels show was great and a nice variety of images. Nice to see my humble entry in the show.

Re: September in the Xara Xone - Tutorials - Featured Artist & More

Peter Mock caught a prettly big error on page 2 (illustration 7) of the September tutorial. The circular fill was incorrect.

The center of the fill should be on top and the fill path arrow dragged to the bottom of the sphere. Exactly the opposite as it should and very frustrating for users who "do as I say and not as I do".

I have corrected this on-line and in the zipped version.

I just viewed the September "WHEELS" show and I thought I might share a recent exercise I did for and with my boy in Xarax1....Apart from the initial wheels outlines (I figured were easier to create in Corel Draw), the graphic was entirely drawn directly on screen in Xarax. The car is just an invention of my mind and evolved as it went along ...simply using Xarax's creative tools and my own visualisation of how such a car might look. The masked photograph, the background edited in Xarax Picture Editor, the light and shading effects to give form, demonstrate how productive and quickly a drawing like this can be created in Xarax.
