    Thought I had already tried that (when I got a funny shape) but don't know what I actually did then (!) but thanks I got it sussed now and the transparency works (fingers crossed for when I print it).

    Redoing isn't a problem, I'm having fun and for once, something in my little brain has is clicking into place!

    Mags,

    I hope you've already succeeded in this but if you still have a problem with the blend - you need to ensure that you have the same number of nodes on both shapes to retain the contour, and that the edges that dont need blending meet. If this still produces an odd shape then check that when you drag the blend from one to the other you are dragging to the equivalent node. This is indicated by a line.
