you must have some knowledge of Linux or Unix??

You currently running any of the systems??

I liked Mandrake, I'm to much of a 'newbie' to get really serious about it.

Hear about porting the BeOS interface to Linux. Looks good so far.

Thanks for the tip and the Agent Ransack name. Will have to play with that and see if my searches improve.

I programmed on a UNIX system for a local software company, for about 8 months, and also took UNIX in programming college. UNIX has some great tools, and once you get used to it's commands and using the VI Editor, it is very fast for programming and handling files.

I have Mandrake 8.something on both of my computers, but must admit I seldom use Linux. I have a hell of a time making simple things work, like connecting to the internet. The learning curve is so steep in the Linux world, and I don't have the time to devote to it. Wish I did.

I keep my eyes open for utilities that perform UNIX-type tasks in Windows, and that is how I found Agent Ransack. One of the best utilities I've ever used. It also installs a shortcut in your Find menu, so you can use it from Find.

Why, I’m afraid I can’t explain myself, sir, because I’m not myself, you know...
