Oh, I just found the font from adobe for $25.00 which is better than $45, I guess although you only get the light version which is what I want anyway. http://www.adobe.com/type/browser/P/P_153.jhtml

Dale, Dale, Dale! Do you know what is involved in creating a font? This is like saying you can buy Xara and then you can create fabulous images.
Type design, especially good and classic type design is a skill that takes years, sometimes a lifetime to perfect. Granted, once you have the skill, a good font creation utility can make the process of digitizing the font easier, but you still need to design the font to begin with.

If I didn't know what it took to create a font, I would not have suggested it.
I use the Font Creator program, but I seldom build a font from scratch, but usually take an existing font and adapt the letters, numbers, and symbols to fit what I am trying to do. This takes far less time than creating an entirely new font.
I have found that some fonts are really great looking except for a couple of letters, so I just bring the entire font into my app, change the letters that are lame or hard to read, and save the font under a new name for my own personal use.

I am not going to go near the topic of tampering with someone's design because for some odd reason, type is one of the few areas not covered by copyrights. The software is covered, but not the design.
On the other hand, I have modified fonts before but usually if I am using the font as a basis of a logo or logotype design.
But my point is that one can no more sit down and design a credible font, or recreate an existing font, any more than one can pick up a musical intrument and without any formal training play a concerto.
Sorry if I came off as a bit preachy

I see your point. And modifying fonts takes some practice and experience with the software.
I have never created a font from scratch, and have no desire to do so.
Like you, I usually only modify fonts for a logo or limited amount of text. Changing one or two letters is enough most of the time, and usually takes less than an hour. It usually takes longer to remember how to use Font Creator than to modify the font!
I have never paid for a font, but I see that coming someday. Many of the free fonts are pretty crappy, inconsistent, or don't have a full character set.
