First of all, I use both Xara X and Photoshop, and I think they complement each other pretty well, so this post is not another "All that can be done with product A, I can do with product B but faster and better"!
I saw the posting about fire done with photoshop, so I started doodling around with Xara X to see if I could achieve a similar effect. This is the result, which I believe could have a bit better shapes on the flames with some tweaking.
