    Thanx for the encouragement towards this field there Mark.... I will give it a whirl very soon like and post the results...

    I did try the GI lighting within Carrara last night after reading this post of yours and wow, there was quite the hit on my machine, and this without any serious photon counts and GI skylight intensity only gauged in at 200 %... to which after all the waiting I found that I faired much nicer results in C4D with only but a few well placed lights... haha, too funny... and this without even going with radiosity enabled... damn, totaly require a faster machine

    but yea, we will look into this much further and get back to yas... and thanx again... glad to see someone so interested in 3D

    Actually James i'm now noticing that the higher the polycount (i.e. model detail) the longer it takes C4D to do a prepass render. But i think that reducing the settings in the Render options will speed that back up a little. Not a lot, but some at least.

    Still playin' with it though.
