Using the Text Tool, I try to enter text onto a page and it comes out as a dotted red outline which does not print. Any idea on what I'm doing wrong? ---Thanks!

    Background info:
I'm usine XaraX on WinXP with 256M RAM (should be plenty!)

I've tried other fonts, to bring it "forward" on the page, and have searched this site and Help for any previous reference to this problem, but can't find anything!

It would seem that you are entering your text to a background layer in Xara. Such layers are non-printing and are usually used for guidelines or 'construction' lines.

Open the layer gallery and note how there can be foreground & background layers. You can drag the layers up or down. If your background layer has both your text and some guidelines you could cut (ctrl-x) your text and then paste it into a foreground layer. Using ctrl-shift-v will paste it in the same location as it was cut from. (Ctrl-v will paste to the centre of the window).

    Hope this helps!
