Another funny and interesting solution is to begin the modelizing of the head from profile. Another character's face and again a lot of fun !!!

Gare, you can download the Silo demo which can be loaded 40 times, or you can buy the key from them which unlocks it for good, for $109.00, which entitles you to a free upgrade to version 2, when it's released. It's at version 1.2, currently.

once again, very cool Ivan... yup, this is where apps which have polygon tools really rock eh
Keep em coming man... this is great stuff for any and all to learn from...
I played around with this method last year with Carrara, just never really took things to the next level as you have here, re cutting in ears etc... fun attempt in Carrara
Will have a go in Silo and see what happens... though I don't expect the same results as you have demonstrated here, least ways not right off the bat... could be a ton of fun practicing though eh
right on man
Thanks !
Brett, you are right, I do have a few talent. But one part of talent is also patience and no inhibitions to radically change your point of view while working on a project.
And also talent is nothing without freedom. With Silo it seems I have found the freedom I need.
Now if you want to see a man who has a Great talent, take a look at the work of Marcel Laverdet on ZBrush forum !!! That's talent !!!
Gary, and Gidgit, if you are interested by other infos, there is a very long thread about Silo here Some people says there that Silo has a lot of the modeling tools also present in Maya. There is also an interesting review in Render Node

Ivan, I downloaded Silo and was able to get results without reading the docs in about an hour. Yes, the observation is correct that Silo and Maya share some tools. The evidence of this is how "organic-friendly" the tools are for making shapes as you did of the head. This is not to say that your piece was a "walk in the park", or that you didn't do you homework. Your piece obviously suggests that you, The Artist, have met your personal freedom in Silo!
And yeah, Marcel knows his Z-brush like the back of his hand (pun intended), too! Thanks for the links and keep up the magnificent work...
My Best,
Gare

Umm, to me, that's less the power of the Silo modeler than it is the work of a talented artist. I don't know Silo, but your work in it is very impressive, Ivan. Anyone who models organics knows the work/talent required to get from image 2 to image 3!
Nice work there. Hope to see more.
Brett
I'm completely in the dark about Silo. Is it free? Can someone provide a link? ( I think someone did in the past, but I've lost it).
My Best, and TERRIFIC creative work, Ivan!--

Yea, eh Brett... Ivan makes this look so easy, but it is not, especially with Silo
