Funny , since soccer ( er ... football) is really the biggest sport in the world, it seems to have almost zero effect or presence in North America (from what I see ... odd eh? )

I'll be down the pub at 10 oclock this morning. Only England can get me out of bed this early on a Sunday morning!
Dave - There is a North American Soccer League, we get the games on Channel 5 over here around 3 in the morning.

    England 1 Sweden 1

Not very impressive - too much long ball stuff, not enough respect for possesion. Midfield need to work and harded.

Must get better or we'll get hammer by Argentina on Friday.

Hey! we have soccer in the U.S., Popular opinion ranks right up there with tossin horse shoe's.

I loved playing soccer when I was in school.
I like tossin horse shoes just as well.
    Don't know which I prefer.

Football (Soccer) isn't my favourite sport - I'm a big Rugby League fan (if you think men rolling in mud you are thinking of Rugby Union - League is played in the summber by fit men who can run and pass well, not unfit public school snobs who enjoy rolling around in mud). Anyway, I got distracted.

Soccer is definately the worlds most popular sport, and I think that the reason it hasn't taken off in the US is because of the insular nature of the country. All your popular sports were either invented by the US or made popular there. You don't go in much for popular foreign sports.

It's a shame because you really are missing out on the greatest sporting tournament on earth.

P.S. I enjoy watching some US sports, esp American Football.

Michael, I'm just twisting your crank man.
I respect all athletic's, hell, I even like that game on ice where the dudes are sweeping with brooms to guide a big rock.
