As we know, Xara's default resolution is 96dpi, but it seems that the default res for Flash 5 is 72dpi. This means that SWF images import into Flash smaller than they were exported from Xara, i.e. a 96x96 pixel square in Xara is a 72x72 pixel square in Flash.
This isn't too much of a problem with a decent sized movie, but when trying to create a banner with smallish letting on it, the resizing distorts everything, even when I make the exported image larger to offset the res difference.
Does anyone know of a way of changing the default res for either program?
I really need to find a resolution to this problem <groan!>

Right click on the page in Xara and select Page Options . In the Scaling tabbed section check the Use Scaling Factor check box

In the Drawing text entry box enter 96pix

In the Real World text entry box, enter 72pix

Press OK to close the dialog and return to your drawing.

    Re-export your banner SWF image.

Thanks Gary, that works a treat... and you've just saved me an awful lot of searching/trying things.
    Many thanks

I had posted this issue before, and was directed to your tip.

When I do what you suggest, I don't get any difference in the result. The exported image still shows up smaller in Flash.

After making the changes, the two images should look the same when viewed at 100% in each program right? Something's not working over here.

I have the latest patch for Xara, so that shouldn't be an issue.

    Confused,
    Will
