As I have searched for the answer to this Xara challenge, I am spellbound by the amount of talent on parade in this forum. I almost hate to visit this forum because of the envy it causes me to feel and the fact that it is WAAAAAAY more interesting than getting a restful night's sleep.
The Xara challenge? Look at the "cover art" on the Xara X CD. There you will see several shapes whose edges are--is it torn?--or is it rippled? Whatever it is, it makes you think you are looking at the reflections of the shapes in wavelets, or on vinyl. This technique doesn't look "vector". It looks "organic".
Just HOW did they do that? Or is this some graphical magic that a powerful wizard deep in the inner sanctum of Xara, Ltd. concocted--the sort of magic that mere mortals will not be able to duplicate?
I'll bet this effect could be tweaked to give a torn edge effect--or maybe frayed paper.
But more to the point, if anyone can shed any light on how to reflect images off the surface of water, I will be megagrateful.
