    I know this isn't awfully realistic looking, but I did it for my 7 year old nephew for a T-shirt emboss. The car was done in Carrera (I looked at a lot of pictures of a 57 Chevy) using a lot of metaballs, and ther finished render was done in Vue. The car is not complete--I only modeled what I knew would be in the scene.

    great scene - I love the style of the golden fifties!

    Best of all: the metaball modeling. Geez, that's something I've never touched in my life. It looks great, especially because I thought metaballs are only good for liquids or slimy stuff.

    Hey Jens...

    No goodness..metaballs come in a number of "soft shapes" in Carrera, and they have positive or negative energy. So by taking a few cubes, I got the front of the car. By using spheres and negative spheres, I got the front chrome. Download it (the three month demo) and try it if you can! It's Ray Dream Designer on steroids!

    Um, the attached image isn't the car...it was just me fooling with the feature.

    look intersting! I'll give it a try wit C4D, which features metaballs as well. Mathematically a positive and a negative metaball should result in - nothing!? I'll test it ;-}

    And then I'll try to export it as 3DS format and import it into Rhino to check if I can use it there - seems like a challenge...

    I like the style, of course I have always liked your style.

    Are you using Cafe Press still? How is that going for you? I just opened a store there and was just curious how well it works. I suppose it is like anything else, you got to work at it (promte) to get anything out of it.

    Ok got off my lazy butt and went to your website, so I see you are using Cafe Press.

    Hi Randy,

    Cafe Press has never made me a dime. But then again, Chris Dickman tells me that there's practically zip market for T-shirts on the Web...seems as though point of purchase places such as stores take in the most $$$ for T-shirts.

    Pity.
