Perhaps others have observed this strange behaviour before. I just notice it. When you use 'convert line to shape' to quickly create a 'hollow' shape - like a ring - the result will not blend properly. Yet, hollow shapes do blend properly if created in other ways like using 'combine shapes>subtract shapes'.

The blend fills in the 'hollows' in all the blend's steps. I tried converting the blend to editable shapes and found the blends intermediate steps can be separated (using 'break shapes' command) into two circles.

    Happy New Year!

What happens if you convert the converted line to editable shapes? or convert the converted line to editable shapes, then break it apart and Join Shapes?

Further study of this is required.

    Hello

Curiously if I select 2 such shapes, I get 3 selected.

If you convert one of the lines to shapes, you get an intermediate blend.

I tried the bevel and blend tools and the same results, big thick middle that is not something that 'break shapes' will work with.

Think I'll stick with the other way to make a ring, this seems to be out of my league.

    Good Luck Ross, et all
