I have not been able to get Mozilla to handle the TalkGraphics cookies correctly.

I want TalkGraphics to only show the threads that have new posts since I last visited, and I want only the new posts to be highlighted. IE and my other browsers do this just fine, but Mozilla does not.

Maybe this is a function of TG, not the browser.

Does this work with your Mozilla? The cookie handler seems to be working fine, but every time I visit TG I have to dig through every thread to see if there are any new posts.

With IE the threads that have new posts are golden light bulbs, and the new posts show as golden folders, while the threads and posts that are NOT new show as white lightbulbs or folders.

Smart explorer is an Excellent browser- does away with pop ups, very well coded, but its not free. I use Crazy Browser which is my second choice to Smart Explorer. I have been using it about a year now and have had very few problems, I would say I need to use ie or netscape maybe 5% of the time. Crazy Browser sometimes has trouble with secure sites.

That is not an issue with my Mozilla browser at all. I come to the site a few times a day and it always has the newer messages highlighted with the older ones in white!! I have just set it up at work as well and it's fine there too!! So I'm not sure about what is causing this with your version!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Kinda like when I was using IE, I got incomplete loading of the icons on the Forum and no other place did I have this issue except for the Windows.net forum that I belong to. I started using Mozilla and I was loading up just fine from day one but I haven't had the need to go to the Win.net forum yet so I'm not sure if that would be an issue but I doubt it for some reason.

So it seems that we all seem to have an issue here and there with our browsers doing strange things from time to time!!

The only thing I could suggest is maybe empty out the cookies for Mozilla and start fresh and see if the problem resolves itself!!

Take care and good luck to ya!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

I did exactly that, and the cookies are working now on TG!

I will be using Mozilla from now on, as long as it performs well.

I have another issue with Mozilla which I have been unable to fix.

On one of my forums, the word wrap function does not work with Mozilla. That means needless horizontal scrolling, a real pain in the butt.

    Any ideas, anyone?

    Hi Dale,

I've looked all over for that one but it doesn't seem to show up anywhere in the Tools or Preferences. That's kind of odd behavoir.

I did find another little goodie though.... there, under the Preferences/Advanced/Scripts and Plugins there is an option to allow for opening unrequested windows. Uncheck that and you should be fine for helping to block popups. Though it may be nessesary for some sites to allow for entry to the site with a popup but maybe not. I am finding that I did the Mozilla set up a bit more lax than the set up at home and have been baragged with popups on some sites that I have wondered into and I was not too happy about this. So this seems to be the thing to UNCHECK in order to be a bit more aggravated by those unwanted ads and what not that tend to get in the way when visiting certain sites.

I looked again and still am not finding the word wrap option. Should be here somewhere but I am not finding it at the moment.

Gotta go and cut some hair now, client just came in the door.

    Sorry, false alarm!

I hadn't noticed that the thread I was on had one of those super-long URLs posted on it. That always forces horizontal scrolling on that forum.

I am loving Mozilla! Its working great now and is faster than IE.

Glad your liking it so much.

I’m kinda pissed off about one little issue I having with it. I’m happily using my Serif PagePlus PDF app to build my web site with and the silly thing WILL NOT preview in Mozilla, WHICH is my default browser. So I am waiting to hear back from someone on the forum!! Grrrrrrr http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/mad.gif

I didn't realize that Netscape and Mozilla aren't exactly the same thing ! From the first day I am connected to the web I never used IE (that was a question of principles). Thus I have tried all tastes of Netscape and Opera. For a long time I used Opera but after some virus problems I have found that Opera Mail wasn't very well synchronised with my anti-virus. From the time I have creatd my rose garden's web site www.botarosa.com I have tested it in Opera and Netscape and the latter workes better (for example the layer's scrollbars are lacking in Opera).

I have downloaded the french version of Mozilla and installed it and I am very happy because not only it has found all my Netscape settings, files, cookies and bookmarks, but now the stupid AIM doesn't launch each time I launch Windows !!!

    Kindly,
    ivan
