I can consistenly make Xara crash by converting text that has been beveled to shapes.
Does anyone else have this problem? 2-2 patch.

I just tried it Shef and it was OK. I tried selecting the text with both the Selector Tool and the Bevel Tool to see if that made a difference.
How much text are you trying to convert?
And asa workaround, would it help to create a high resolution bitmap instead with Alpha channel transparency?

I'm trying to deliver a Xara file to a client (yes I turned them on to Xara) and I'm trying to change the text to outlines/shapes/curves so that there will be no font issues.
What I am doing is selecting the text, 2 objects which consist of text with an outline underneath the same text with no outline and a bevel.
I can do the change to shapes, no problem. The problem comes when I try to do a "save as", because I want to keep my original with text intact. As soon as I hit the "file" button I get an access violation.
I should also mention that there is a 10 meg bitmap image in the file. But the text being exported is simply a gradient fill.
Try it and see if you have the same problem. Thanks

If you want to keep the text intact and editable, why not save a separate file with editable text and save the original text with bevels as its own file.
Glad to hear you converted another user to Xara!
