The big problem is how does one go about enforcing this?
Let's say that someone in another far away country violates my copyright and uses some of my images that are posted on my site on his/her site and I catch the person. I tell the person that she/he has violated my copyrights and he/she says, tough luck, try to stop me.
What can I do? Unless he/she is a mega corporation with deep pockets and is worth litigating against, I am really helpless.
These copyright laws are really for the protection of the big boys who have the big bucks and the in-house staff of attorneys.

Never mind the "big boys." As a matter of fact, NO so-called "international law" (or treaty) is enforceable in ANY way.
