Steve, you may have already tried this, but power the computer down and let it remain off for at least 30 seconds. This will allow all the RAM to be wiped clean when you restart. Restart the computer and then open Xara X and try opening the file. If you still get the error, then look in the Windows/Temp directory for a file with the same name but with a .bak extension.

Hope this work for you.

And when you know you will have a long work, save often and under two different names.

Kindly,

Oh boy, oh boy, isn't that frustrating...
but then again, what can you expect when you still need to learn how to write proper English and that a foreigner has to correct you with your native language...

I see Dmagician beat me to it, but here are some examples for PeterP, written by PeterP.
Only typos?

Found an uncorrupted copy in my temp file! OMG I was about to cry! Thanks a lot!

Also, thanks for the comeback for Peter proving him the hypocrite he is. I was too lazy and frusterated!

*Note to Peter*- I replied to a message of yours in the "Site Design and Publishing" thread with the false impression that you had begun to cheer up and be a nice guy. I was really looking forward to getting to know you within those 2 minutes. It's sad really I would really like to know what makes you soo bitter, no one's bad all the way through, there's gotta be some good in you. I wish you lived around here so I could invite you to my church or do something nice for you! Everyones not as bad as the person/s that made you turn this way, we've never done anything to you. Cheer up and life will be much more fullfilling I PROMISE!!

Addition to Steve's note:

Peter, doesn't it make you think that a 15 year old (though a very *smart* 15 year old) has to tell you this ???

Read your post above and ask yourself:

* Was this helpful for Steve ??
* Was it helpful for anybody ??
* Did you feel better afterwards ??

If you answer one of the above with 'yes', you definAtely need help !!!

To Steve: Glad to hear Soquili's tip worked for you. This happens very rarely to me (in Xara), but I still know how it feels to see hours of work go bye bye ...

Wolfgang

P.S.: This is NOT intended to start a flame war Peter. If you should wish to do so, please email me directly ...
