I am new to XaraX and am trying to create text on a circular path. I want to have half the text on top of the circle (outside) and half on the bottom (outside. I want both top and bottom separate and running left to right.

I figure I need to split the circle into 2 halves.

    My problem is:
1: I don't know how to do that.
2: How do I specify whether the text will be above or below the line and run from left to right.

Sorry to sound such a newbie, but I really need help on this.

    Thanks. J

    Welcome to the forums.
See attachments below. I hope this answers your question. If not get back. There are several ways of doing it but this way shows you some interesting features in XaraX

That was one of my very first questions. Here's a thread about it: web page

Of course, Egg has explained it nicely.

I saw a couple of errors so I've updated it a bit.

    Yet another way (see attachment)

    1) Start with a circle and the text that will eventually appear at the BOTTOM of the circle. Center justify the text.

    2) Fit text to curve. Note that text is centered to bottom of circle.

    3) Clone the circle and text. Put orignal to the side for now. Rotate the clone 180 degrees and use text tool to edit the text to create text that will appear at the TOP of the circle.

    4) Go back to the original circle and text. Right click the text and select "Reverse text on curve". Note that text is on INSIDE of circle. We'll have to fix that won't we.

    5) With text tool, adjust baseline shift until text is OUTSIDE the circle.

    6) Now align the two groups of TOP and BOTTOM texts so that the circles overlap. Group them and change line color to no color.

This technique only uses a few steps, and also has the advantage of automatically keeping the text center aligned on the circles.
