First of all I'd like to apologise for not visiting this emporioum of excellent design tips and techniques recently, and it's nothing personal (no-one in here smells or anything) I've just been strapped for time recently (A-level exams!!).

Anyway, to the question...

This is slightly Xara related (some of the graphics have been done in Xara! )

I'm looking to design a screensaver for download on a non-profit site (http://leighcenturions.net).

My aim is to use a looping AVI animation. The screensaver must be bundled into a single .scr file and should loop the AVI file on a full-screen black background.

Can anyone suggest a tool which could do this for me??

I've never used it but you might like to look at this:
digitalworkshop.com Fandango page
I think theres another one which allows you to create screensavers from Flash movies, but I can't remember where I've seen it.

Michael,

Needed to do something similar myself. Bought Fandango2 last week. It's only £14.99 in PC World.

FlashJester is really expensive, considering what it does. A much more reasonable app is FlashWiz (http://www.flashwiz.co.uk/).

I just downloaded the trial of Fandango and made a pretty stunning scrensaver in no time !!

The price is more than OK and I will order for sure !!

P.S.: Funny thing is, that I HATE screensavers. At least on my computers.
But guess my customers will be interested in these ...
