All down the Clyde we have victorian lighthouses which are now defunct just having a flashing light. This lighthouse is at Toward, pronounced Tou'ard. It is very near my sailing club and is at the entrance into Rothesay Bay.
Had problems with the foreground any critique in this area of the drawing is more than welcome.

Beautiful image. Looks so peaceful. I'd like to see it in the middle of a full blown storm.

    Toward Light?

Know it well, from both sailing and four years of Glasgow Schools' First Orchestra courses at Castle Toward!

The lichenous rocks in the foreground are beautifully done, but the shadow behind seems too strong so they appear almost cut into the grass (like the face of a golf bunker) instead of standing proud at the head of the beach.

"The Lichenous Rocks" sounds like a great name for a rock band!

Wonderful image Albacore. I don't know what your difficulty with the foreground is -- the rocks look great. It seems to me Peter's comments re that shadow is worth review. The building and lighthouse are very well done.

Thanks! Very enjoyable to see. It has a dreamy quality to it.

... to me! More than great actually... I think it is a fantastic illustration! Very life like colours in the whole image - I'm impressed!

    Keep up the good work!

The only thing I find kinda strange is the clouds! IMHO I think they should be a bit more spread out, look like they are kinda bunched up in the middle of the illustration. They also look kinda blockie in a few areas. Other than that I think it's really great. The rocks are A1 in my book!!

PS: I really like the lighthouse too!!

Lighthouses are fantastic subjects for creating images and I think you've captured this one perfectly. 5 Stars.
I agree re the clouds and the only other point I would raise is the sharpness of the shadow on the lightkeepers roof.
