Anyone - is there an easy way to join end-points of multiple lines? I seem to remember that in CorelDraw 4 (!) you simply selected all points and moved them, but that doesn't work here. Maybe somebody could write a plugin or applet to do it...

    Hi Simon ...
I'm not the expert on this ... but when I connect two lines I select both and move the end nodes together ... they weld automatically. To add a third line select the two welded lines AND the third line ... then move the end node from the third line to where the first two lines are connected ... and click on ARRANGE and JOIN SHAPES.

I hope you could follow that ... I'm not the teaching guru that some of these guys are.

I think Ed got that right. It's one of the areas of the vector tools that needs some tweaking. I'm not sure what to suggest but there should be a more elegant way to 'electrify' the end nodes of unclosed lines instead of having to completely select both lines entirely but maybe not!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

First of all I want to note that in Xara you can to connect only lines but not line and shape. So sometimes it is easier to draw new line. For example I spent 2,5 minutes to draw shape I sent. At the beginning I`ve put object from lsvg fractal to separated layer, locked it, switch on snap to object mode and draw one main part (about 30 seconds) . Then (Ctrl + Rotate) made 5 copies of this objects and finally joined 6 nodes. It is not full automatically , but maybe semi. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

An alternate method for your edification. This is a point to an area and fill in AutoSketch. The solid fills become objects in Xara X. You get a fill (object) drawing and a line drawing. You can also use masking in something like Photoshop to fill the area, too. Rich

    Rich, HUH?

What's your process. Bring the fractal into SketchUp, redraw an edge with the line tool to create faces, then export the faces and import into Xara?

Drag the fractal to the AutoSketch Window. Point inside the area with the solid fill tool. Export to WMF. I usually separate the line drawing and delete it. The object has a border line anyway. Takes about 30 seconds. It requires that the segments meet end to end.

This is different application from SketchUp.

    Sorry Rich,

I misread and then I saw you were from Colorado (home of SketchUp).

Simple shapes like the one, Rich is showing in autosketch, can be "filled" using ADD SHAPES / BREAK SHAPES methd. After break change the fill collor of the shape to see that it's solid.
