    I have a feeling I'm going to have a "Doh!..." just as soon as I hit "Post now", but as I haven't been able to find the answer for 4 days... here goes!

    I know how to select an object that's under another object. But how do you select a point that's under another point?

    For instance, if you've used the shape editor tool to insert a new point on a line, and you have broken the line at that point, and you want to move one of the points, which happens to be the lowermost one, how do you get at it without first moving the uppermost point out of the way?

    Just a thought.

    One way of doing it, which does involve getting the covering point out of the way, is to move it with the arrow keys, counting the keypresses (one or two is usually enough), and then moving the now exposed point, and then moving the uppermost point back the same number of taps.

    But that's a workaround... inelegant... and so un-Xara-like!

    It's still a bit trial and error but it does work.
    Create your closed shape.
    With the shape editor tool select the node you want to open the shape with.
    Hit the 'Break at Points' icon. (A node is left highlighted)
    Hit delete or delete point icon.
    There's a 50:50 chance it will be the wrong one.
    If it is, Undo, Undo.
    Hit the Reverse Path icon
    With the same node selected, hit the 'Break at Points' icon again.
    Hit delete or delete point icon.
    This time it will be the correct node that you want to delete.

    A bit like Egg's suggestion:

    * Hit "break at points"
    * Hit Delete
    * If you've deleted the wrong point, Undo (once)
    * Hit Tab to select the "next" point
    * If that moves off the coordinate where you broke the path hit Shift-Tab to move back and hit Shift-Tab again.
    * The other point at the break coordinate should now be selected and you can delete it.

    Ah! I thought must be a key which takes you round the points!

    Thanks Phil!

    Hi Anton.
    I´m not sure if i understood you correctly but here is...

    Try this: select the object or line where the point you want to move is.
    After you have the object selected change to the shape editor tool and hit the TAB key to cycle between all the points off that shape or line until you reach the point you want.
    Then just move the point with the cursor keys.

    Hope this helps,
    Best regards,
    Miguel B.
