Hi all,

I promised Ross I would post the brush I used for this object
http://jaenus.pinkbat.com/xarax/img/x-fill.png
... so here it is. It is a very simple halftone pattern. I've got a thing about halftones ... but haven't so far been able to put my experiments to much good use. Adjusting scaling, rotation and brush angle produces the effects.
I did say it's *very simple*.

Regards,
Britta

I will try your brush probably tomorrow, but I think you might have very interesting idea about brushes. Take a look at some of my "spiro-brushes" like "RĂ©sille" and other ones on the Swap Shop.

Kind regards,
ivan

I went in and edited your first post above. There was a slight problem with regards to displaying the inline image.

Thanks for the brush. I didn't know what you meant by halftones until I downloaded the file and looked at it. The effect is pretty cool. I too will have fun playing with the idea.

I've attached a zoomed view for anyone else not sure about 'halftones'

Ivan,
I think I've got practically all the Swap Shop brushes

I have a bit of a problem with some of the 'heavier' brushes (including some of your spiros) on my system, so I haven't been able to play much with them. I don't know whether it's my hardware (16MB Matrox graphics card, Athlon 600 processor, 256MB RAM); but I get a lot of access violations and crashes with the complicated brushes unfortunately.
Maybe once I get my Xara CD and install that (I'm still on the trial) things will improve.

Hi Britta,

When you receive your CD remember to download the patch from the Xara.com site. That should eliminate some of the access violation errors you've seen.

To doublecheck, but if I remember correctly, the cd has the patch already included.
If I am wrong, please pardon my ignorance.
