Hello everyone,

This is my first post I want to say thanks to all of you for your excellent job in this forum, it's really great to learn for the big maestros...

Is there a way to get a simple draw written in XaraX, i.e a logo with two shapes but with two different colors and then import this file into Xara3D to animate the logo but without loss the colors?

I have tried but Xara3d recognized the draw as a single character and when I applied the colors, the two shapes are with the same color.

Do you know is there is a workaround?

Saludos from Mexico,

Juan Carlos H.

Hello Juan,

Welcome to the forum.

The best answer to your question, in my opinion, is Gary Priester's tutorial April 99

Having said that, I'll add my two cents worth

Start with your XaraX drawing and export as a .gif or .png with transparency.

Save your .xar then import into Xara3D

Then load the .gif or .png exported from XaraX as a text texture.

Hope this helps.

Juan
Soquilis explanation is correct, and can often suffice if your after a single depth shape. One of the problems of using a texture however is that the bevel type and depth often makes fitting the texture to the object difficult if not impossible.

If the effect below is more what your after, if you can wait a few days I'll try and knock up a tutorial.

Thanks Egg, I would really much appreciate a tutorial and sure I can wait.

Last nigth I follow exactly the Gary's tutorial and I found some problems trying to adjust the texture, so I need to come back to edit the texture and then apply to the draw until fit perfectly (almost).

Thanks for your reply.

Guys i envy you all.
I asked a question long time a go, and many answers were replied but none solve my problem.
I am not abled to bring XaraX files to Xara3d 4.0 a message saying "failed to import (filename)"
Note: i installed the plugin from xara site, but still not working?
i don't know what to do? espacially when everyone in the fourm is talking about bringing xara files to 3d but me.
