32 bit plugin support? I would put better layer handling and many other items miles above plugin support. I don't recall plugin support being mentioned but a few times.

I too would like to have all the layer/name gallery problems fixed as well.

Like I said, I would have liked to put all the requests into a poll form then we could see how many people wanted what features, but the poll is limited only to 5 choices.

Also, I would lump brush problems into the category of fixing known bugs.

Personally I would like to see a service pack from Xara every six months or so rather than a new version every 3 years.

was even longer coming when they split from Corel. More like 5 years or some thing like that. I have that archived version and it's from 1995 (1.5) and there was only 2 versions since then (CorelXara 2.0 and XaraX). So who knows what they are doing? [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif[/img]

Maybe, hopefully, they are looking at the new products that are hitting the shelves AND keeping tabs on the request thread and devising a fabulous new version.

PhotoImpact 8.0 (does vector, painting, photo editing, web page building, gif animation, and a few other things) just hit the shelves and there are quite a few new features. Ulead usually puts out a new version every year and their code is pretty darn flawless. [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif[/img] I know, I own a copy and am gearing up to get "8". So I don't know if it's XaraLtd. coders are few and far between or they have some other excuse, but it WOULD be nice if they changed their policy in keeping us better informed and to upgrade their product a little more often. It's one of the 'irratations', kind of like a rash [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif[/img] that they exibit that I'm not too keen about.

Nice job with the list, Sheffield! And I quite agree with you on the 6-month SP vs. new version once in a blue moon. It would PROVE to us that XX was still ALIVE and that they were on top of things. The deafenings silence from Xara about XX is maddening!

I noticed in an other thread that no one here would be without Photoshop, myself included.

Wouldn't it be great if there was a button in the bitmap gallery that said "edit bitmap" and then it would open your favorite bitmap editing program with the selected bitmap ready to edit. Upon saving and closing, it would update in Xara.

I don't think that would be too hard to implement.

And yes, I agree, I would like to be kept in the loop of Xara X developments. Their last news item was back in August the release of X3d.
