The light bulb below is the combination of 3 software. First, the glass of the bulb was made with Blender 2.23, the groove was made with wings 3D and the rest (combining objects, lighting and rendering) with Swift 3D.

    What do you think ?

    Hi Dan---

Can I suggest a few more turns on the thread, and a better rendering engine if you can find one for free?

If you'd like to eMail me a DXF copy of the mesh, I could pass it through trueSpace 3 (which is free for download-Windows only) and show you a render w/ more glass and metallic looks.

I will work on it to achieve a better look. As for the dfx file, only the glass part is dfx. The groove is 3ds. Both were imported in Swift 3D that does'nt save in dfx.

I'll play with the ligths and texture to get it to look more metallic and transparent.

    Thanks for the input.
